Setup#

Topic overview#

The aim of this setup is to ensure that you can access the ETH network remotely and to introduce our teaching platform.

Learning objectives#

Learning Objective 1 - You grasp the concept of remote servers and networks required to securely connect to them via the internet

  • LO 1.1 - You know what a remote server is and how it is different from your computer

  • LO 1.2 - You use the VPN to access the ETH network from outside

  • LO 1.3 - You know what a command line interface is

  • LO 1.4 - You connect to a remote server

  • LO 1.5 - You observe the difference between the directory path (location) on your local computer and on the server

Learning Objective 2 - You familiarize yourself with R-Studio (R), Jupyter (Python) and ChatGPT

  • LO 2.1 - You connect to our server-based setup of R-Studio and Jupyter

  • LO 2.2 - You create a login to the AI-based system ChatGPT
