Refresher/Preparation Unix

General information

Main objective

This section introduces Unix - an operating system that runs on almost all high performance computing (HPC) servers, which we interface with via the command line. After completion, students will have the necessary Unix knowledge to participate in the Bioinformatics course

Learning objectives

• Students can use the command line to issue basic commands with arguments

• Students can navigate the Unix file system and perform basic file operations

• Students can inspect files

This section requires the use of your terminal and to connect to Cousteau. You should have therefore completed the Setup .

Note: The refresher follows the material of Unix 1 and 2 from the Practical Training in Bioinformatics course.
