Protein bioinformatics II

Protein bioinformatics II#

Main objective#

In this practical we learn about computationally characterising small molecule binding sites in proteins using pocket detection and docking.

Learning objectives#

  • You will recap prior introductory knowledge on structural bioinformatics.

  • You will learn algorithms used to predict protein pockets and structures of proteins bound to small molecules.

  • You will learn about computational methods to predict the structures of protein-protein complexes.

  • You will be able to predict pockets and ligand binding structures using current computational methodologies.
