# Database

The mOTUs database is constructed by clustering universal single-copy phylogenetic marker genes from reference genomes, single cell-assembled genomes (SAGs), and metagenome-assembled genomes (MAGs).

The latest database version (mOTUs 4.0) consists of a total of 124,295 mOTUs comprising:
* 30,256 mOTUs containing at least one isolate genome
* 94,039 mOTUs consisting of only MAGs
